BIOTECH Project
http://biotech.biology.arizona.edu
Advances in technology are transforming the biomedical and agricultural sciences. Educators recognize the importance of introducing pre-college students to current developments in biological science so that they may better understand and critically evaluate its benefits and risk. To this end, the University of Arizona MCB Department developed the Biology Instructional Outreach for Teachers: Expanding Classroom Horizons (BIOTECH) Project. The BIOTECH Project provides support for Arizona teachers that need equipment and supplies for or practical experience in conducting molecular genetics and other biology experiments with their students. The BIOTECH Project consists of two major components: partnership with in-service biology teachers and extensive resource center support for teachers to carry out biology experiments.
