CybermRNA1 - A mRNA biogenesis and degradation simulator

Abstract of accompanying paper

Please note: Suggest resolution 1024x768 with Internet Explorer 4 or higher on Windows9X/NT/Linux machine. The programs DO NOT work for Netscape on Machintosh machine. If you use Internet Explorer on Mac machine, most of the stuff is OK except the color labels will be black and white.

Description: These are Java applets for modeling of eukaryotic mRNA turnover. To take a look at the details of the underlying model, click here. You can input rate constants and see changes on steady state level, kinetic curve and virtual high resolution northern gel pattern. The numbers shown in the textbox on the right represent the steady state level for that specific component. Basically, you can do all kinds of " in silico" experiments as compared to the "wet" biology we do in the lab everyday.

Before you start: read this in detail.

Go to the program:

    1. Decay from steady state simulation
    2. Pulse chase simulation
    3. fragment half-life measurement by cycloheximide simulation
    4. approach to steady state simulation
