spe-27 |
| Genetic Position | IV 2.51 (see genetic map in acedb) |
| Physical Location | DC12 (see cosmid info in acedb) |
| Sequence | Genomic DNA: Genbank Accession U37713 Protein: Genbank Accession 1022815
|
| Cloned By | Ward Lab |
| Homologies | none |
| Mutant Alleles | it110, it132ts, hc161 |
| Effect of Mutations | Defective in receiving or processing the hermaphrodite spermiogenesis initiation signal: unmated hermaphrodites are self-sterile because their spermatids fail to undergo spermiogenesis; mated hermaphrodites are self- and outcross-fertile. Males are fertile. Spermatids from both males and hermaphrodites form spikes rather than pseudopods when exposed to pronase. Suppressible by spe-6 suppressor alleles. |
